Food Matters

Food Matters Ltd is a young and dynamic content and events business based in Hammersmith. We are at an exciting time in our journey as we undergo a substantial digital transformation of the business.

We are currently in the process of a strategic digital rebrand incorporating a move to a digital parent brand (www.foodmatterslive.com) and a portfolio of sub brands including the Food Matters Live event series, Food Tech Matters, the series of Table Talk digital content including the Table Talk Podcast series and Food Matters Careers.

As part of the rebrand, we are in the process of developing a new website which combines all existing sites into one under the parent brand and will act as the gateway into the world of Food Matters.

We are currently seeking a commercially minded editor who will play an instrumental part in developing the online content strategy for foodmatterslive.com and sub brands. Working closely with the digital marketing team and podcast production team, the role will be to take responsibility for the all the online content on www.foodmatterslive.com.

A trained journalist, with proven experience of editing and commissioning, ideally with an interest in the future of food, nutrition and sustainability, the ideal candidate is a creative individual with the skills to lead the expansion of our online offerings to both provide more value to our existing community but importantly also reach new audiences into our community.

Candidates should have:

  • An excellent flair for storytelling with the ability to create, commission and edit digital content seamlessly across all digital mediums
  • A creative and strategic mind, interested in thought-provoking commentary, insights, ideas and views across different mediums – from audio, written, video to live speakers
  • A solid eye for visual expression for use alongside excellent copy writing skils
  • Up to date knowledge of SEO and digital marketing tools including social media performance (particularly LinkedIn)
  • A strong interest in driving and monitoring engagement through content marketing via all digital channels
  • Two years’ proven experience in a similar role for a digital business/brand
  • The desire to play a part in a growing, dynamic, agile small business as it builds on existing growth and enters in to a really exciting digital journey

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and organisation a content plan for the website
  • Working closely with the web development team to oversee the launch of a new website from a content perspective
  • Working closely with the web and event digital marketing team across all elements of digital content dissemination
  • Working closely with the podcast production and editing/digital marketing team
  • Taking ownership of the content on foodmatterslive.com once the new site is up and running
  • Commissioning external contributors, ensuring the tone and values of the brand are represented across all content streams
  • Working closely with the existing digital marketing teams and podcast production teams on content amplification and digital reach including newsletter/emails
